The Phoenixes

5RW at Pizza Express

Kneading dough at the Metro Centre

Earlier this week, the Phoenixes took part in Mr Rowlands' favourite trip of the year - making pizzas at Pizza Express! It's a great opportunity to see how a chef in a busy restaurant works. The children got hands on and made their own pizzas with help from head chef Patrick, who was brilliant with the kids. We definitely think we have some future chefs in our class as they did an amazing job! We were so proud of the children for the behaviour and their listening skills. We'd like to say a huge thank you to the Pizza Express staff in the Metro Centre for making us feel so welcome.

And of course the best part was... eating the pizzas!

Discovery Musuem

Cracking codes at Christmas time

5RW had a fab day at the Discovery Museum in town. They started the day by taking part in a Christmas themed workshop all about cracking codes. Some of the puzzles were real brain teasers but we were impressed with the children's resilience and determination to keep going and find the answers.

After lunch, we had the museum pretty much to ourselves to explore and play with the exhibits! The children were super well behaved and represented Beech Hill brilliantly.

Our class ambassadors

Representing our class are...

Meet our class ambassadors George & Lilly (Science), Logan & Poppy (school council) and Elliot & Skye (Eco) who have been chosen by their classmates' votes to represent the views of Phoenix class.

This is one way we teach the children about the British value of Democracy.
