Provision for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
The school's Special Educational Needs (SEN) policy is implemented through wide ranging and specific interventions for pupils with additional needs.
- Teaching Assistants, to support those with additional needs, are deployed throughout the school. This includes two specialist SEN Teaching Assistants / Nursery Nurses.
- The school accesses local authority support from SENTASS to help identify, monitor and provide for those with additional needs; both moderate and specific (such as dyslexia).
- The school has purchased specific intervention programmes for motor skills, social skills and dyslexia.
- Additional funds are deployed to resource school based interventions in fine motor skills, mathematics, speaking and listening, spelling and reading comprehension.
