"Attending the School Direct Teacher Training Programme at Beech Hill Primary School has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Throughout my training, I was able to build a strong foundation of knowledge and practical skills that have been directly applicable to my teaching practice. The school provided a welcoming and supportive environment, where I was able to observe experienced teachers, implement my learning in real classroom settings, and receive constructive feedback to refine my teaching techniques.

One of the standout features of my training at Beech Hill was the friendly and collaborative staff team. They were always willing to offer advice, share resources, and provide guidance when needed, making me feel supported throughout the entire process. This camaraderie within the team fostered a positive, nurturing atmosphere that I felt very lucky to be a part of.

Additionally, Beech Hill offered a wide range of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities that allowed me to further expand my knowledge in areas such as behaviour management, curriculum design, and assessment. These opportunities were invaluable in developing my professional expertise and helped me feel confident in my ability to adapt and meet the needs of my students.

At the end of my teacher training, I was thrilled to secure a position as a Reception teacher, working within Early Years. This role has allowed me to continue applying the skills I developed during my training and to make a positive impact on the children's learning and development. I’m excited to continue my journey in education and am grateful for the solid foundation Beech Hill provided me with throughout the School Direct Programme."

As a schools direct trainee, I completed training in many schools whilst also gaining an insight into teaching from a theoretical perspective at university. As soon as I walked through the door at Beech Hill, I felt welcome and part of the school team. I chose the schools direct course for that reason as well because I wanted to be embedded in a school and gain a more realistic perspective on teaching life. The course is very practical in nature and I received expert support and coaching throughout. There are many benefits to the course such as getting to know the school and pupils really well, working with teachers that produce outstanding outcomes and the weekly training sessions with your mentor that combine theory and practice.
