Character Matters

The children have shown great resilience, courage and kindness throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. All of the year groups from Nursery through to Year 6 have been reflecting on the core virtues that they have shown and witnessed this year by taking part in our ‘Character Matter’s’ campaign. 

The children have completed lessons and activities around the following virtues- 

• Compassion
• Gratitude
• Resilience
• Being Virtuous 
• Volunteering 

Here are some highlights –

Valentines ‘Share the Love’ challenge- children wrote messages of love and kindness to those they have been apart from during lockdown. 

Thank you letters and been sent from the children to key workers and people in school who have supported them, sharing their gratitude. 

The children have talked about and shared their character super powers. Reflecting on the times that they have shown courage and resilience. 

Children have learned about key individuals from the past and present, exploring what character traits led to their success.
