Keeping ourselves safe

The Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service came to visit Year 4 on Monday. We already knew what could potentially to start a fire and we were very good at spotting hazards around the house. We were taught a lot of useful information to keep ourselves safe including; not charging our mobile phones up overnight, making sure our games consoles have enough ventilation and checking our smoke alarms every week.

We have been reminded what to do in the event of a fire, including how to ring the emergency services; it is very important for us to learn our address including our postcode and advisable to download ‘What 3 Words’ on our mobiles to ensure we can always be located.

We were reassured not to worry because we now know how to keep ourselves safe.

Searching for words!

In literacy, we have been looking at reference sources and doing dictionary and thesaurus scavenger hunts!

Discovering the Fab Four

Our music lessons are off to a fantastic start! We have enjoyed learning and listening to songs by The Beatles and we have been playing along on the glockenspiel.

Learning about Life

This half term in science, we are learning about living things.  We have been sorting and classifying animals in different ways and exploring the school grounds to discover different habitats.
