The children who attend Mrs Fielding's lunchtime club (Team HOPE) recently sorted all of the generous donations which we received from our families and made up some very special 'bags of hope'. The children designed labels and wrote uplifting messages inside before filling the bags with toiletries, socks, gloves, notebooks and various other items to help our street friends with day to day life and to let them know that someone is thinking about them. The bags were distributed by HOPE North East and the children were thrilled to see their faces in the photos receiving their gifts. We now have a group of KS2 pupils who go and knit scarves and blankets for our street friends with the residents of Lincrest Court every Monday lunchtime...their enthusiasm is infectious! We are constantly overwhelmed by the kindness of our pupils and their passion to help others.
We’d like to share with you the following kind message, posted by Andrea Wright from the charity HOPE North East, in response to the donations sent by Mrs Fielding’s Team HOPE.
Thank you to the children, parents & staff at Beech Hill Primary School who have very kindly donated a huge amount of toiletries, snacks, playing cards, notebooks & much more.
During their lunch break the children designed their own sticker to decorate the bag then filled it with a selection of goodies.
We gave some of the bags out last night & they were a huge hit, thankfully we were given so many that we have plenty to take along next week too.
Thanks again everyone #teamhope
