School's Areas for Improvement 2017-18

28th September 2017

Each year, our leadership team meet to identify and plan the school’s main areas of improvement for the year. We would like to share with you our plans for 2017-18:

To continue to improve the percentage of children to reach expected and exceeding levels in SPAG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar) across the school.

To continue to improve the percentage of children to reach expected and exceeding levels in maths across the school.

To continue to improve the percentage of children to reach expected and exceeding levels in writing across the school particularly through our involvement in the Primary Writing Project.

Improve the children’s entrepreneurial skills.

To continue to develop parental engagement.

To provide the children with extra-curricular enrichment activities.

Each pupil to make a community pledge.

To provide career opportunities by inviting professionals into school.

One of the targets above mentions the Primary Writing Project. The Primary Writing Project is a new two year initiative which the school has invested in. It aims to improve writing across the school, from Early Years right up to Year 6. On Thursday 12th October, when the school is closed for a training day, all of the teachers will be attending Primary Writing Project training. We are excited about this and we can't wait to see the impact it will have in the classroom where we hope children across the school will learn to become fantastic writers.

Thank you for taking the time to read about our areas of improvement for 2017-18.
