No Pens Day

Yesterday was No Pens Day at school. This is a day we hold each year where speaking and listening is the main focus instead of writing. It's a chance for children to do something different in lessons and to improve their speaking skills.
 
At the end of the day, we had a special assembly where we handed out certificates to a child from each class who had really stood out.
 
The video below, from Year 2, is an example of the type of skill we were practising yesterday, where children tried to confidently speak to each other or the class.
