No Pens Day

Yesterday we held a ‘No Pens Day’. We challenged the teachers to spend yesterday delivering lessons which focused on speaking and listening or physical activities. However, the children weren’t allowed to use a pen!

Some of the activities taking place around school included: making weather gauges in Year 4 and building quadrilaterals out of straws; Computing and Spanish in Year 3; interviewing each other in Literacy; matching fraction decimal and percentage cards, playing maths games; learning about the artwork of John Coatsworth and learning about the evolution of birds’ beaks by discovering the easiest way to pick up chocolate buttons.

Victoria in Year 6 said “I’m having so much fun, I can’t believe we’re learning.”
