Newsletter Monday 16th May
20th May 2022
The weeks seem to be rushing past as we are now into our final term for this academic year.
At the end of this newsletter are some dates for diaries.
Hot weather
As the weather is heating up, we would ask you to make sure your little people come to school with a water bottle and with sunscreen applied when needed.
The school uniform for summer includes gingham summer dresses or shorts, but please make sure that shoes are not open toed (e.g. Sandals). This is to keep everyone safe whilst playing.
SATs
A massive big shout out to year 6 and year 2 children this week who have returned from two years of Covid and approached the SATs tests with positivity, resilience drive and determination – they have really smashed our school character targets this week! The children in year 6 had Mrs Eatock’s eyes leaking when she was telling them how proud she was of them!
Parents Evenings
Parents evenings will be held next week (wk beginning 16th May) and will be held in person in school. We are very much looking forward to seeing everyone! Please do make sure that you let the class teacher know and do not attend if you have any Covid symptoms however.
National Numeracy Day
National numeracy day is the 18th May and in school we will be enjoying this day by rolling our numbers in a Guinness world record challenge and other fun number tasks. More information can be found here: https://www.nationalnumeracy.org.uk/numeracyday
and there is a number heroes competition children can enter here: https://www.nationalnumeracy.org.uk/number-heroes-competition
