This week, some of our children attended a gymnastic event with Mrs Carter. This was an excellent event where children not only got to compete and perform their routine in front of judges and an audience of parents but also got to participate in a carousel of gymnastic activities including cheer leading, acrobatic gymnastics, the high beam and the vault.
In first event, there were eight teams at the competition and Beech Hill came second thanks to super performances from Ryleigh, Georgia, Lacey and Molly Dudding from Year 1 and Maya and Ellie from Reception.
Meaning from Year 3, there were ten teams at the competition and we were represented by Ivana, Bethany, Katie, Mikki and Lily-May. Well done girls.
Year 5 was represented by Katie-Leigh, Kerrianne, Cally-Lee and Megan. These girls were particularly fantastic because only Katie-Leigh and Kerrianne come to gymnastics so they taught the other girls in the group the routine at break times and lunch times. Well done Megan and Cally for stepping in and stepping up to the challenge.
Mrs Carter was delighted with the fantastic performances and the behaviour of all the pupils. All girls were both nervous and excited but most importantly all had a fantastic day which they thoroughly enjoyed – when asked about their favourite part of the day they all said ‘all of it!’
