World Book Day

26th February 2021
It's World Book Day on Thursday 4th March! Please click below to download information about World Book Day.

Every year we celebrate World Book Day in school. This year will be no different except we will be celebrating at home as well as in school. Our aim is to still have a day that is full of fun and activities based around books and reading.

The whole school will be focusing on the book ‘Rain before Rainbows’. It is an uplifting story full of wonderful illustrations with the message of finding happiness after dark and sad times.  Activities and tasks will be set by the class teachers.

Rainbow clothes

All children are invited to wear the colours of the rainbow- we would love for you to take a photo of your child so we can create a whole school display. We are asking year groups to wear a specific colour. Don’t worry if you don’t have anything in this colour. Even a pair of socks will do!

Nursery/Reception- Pink or red     Year 1 – Orange      Year 2- Yellow       Year 3- Green

Year 4 -Blue Year 5 – Dark blue/purple           Year 6 – Violet/Purple

Toilet roll book characters
You are all invited to create a book character out of a toilet roll! Save your toilet rolls and see if you can turn them into your favourite book character. Send your photos into the class teacher- there are prizes up for grabs for the most creative entries.

Reading den
See if you can create a reading den in your house.
Use you pillows, cushions, duvets etc. to make a cosy
reading spot for the day. Take your favourite book into it
and send us a photo.

Masked Reader

Keep your eyes open for some mysterious readers on our dojo and website. Will you be able to solve the mystery and name all of the staff? Keep your answers until next week when you can then submit them to your class teacher.
